Cryptocurrency-friendly messaging platform Telegram is experiencing massive outages, with multiple users reporting issues accessing content on the messenger.
<a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://downdetector.com/status/telegram/" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">According</a> to data from Downdetector, hundreds of Telegram users reported issues in server connection on Telegram starting at around 10:30 am UTC on Oct. 3.
The most reported issues included problems with sending and receiving messages and other connection issues on the app.
<h2 id="telegram-outages-reported-across-multiple-countries">Telegram outages reported across multiple countries</h2>
Outage.Report <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://x.com/ReportOutage/status/1841804574832672779" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">reported</a> on X that Telegram had been down since 10:22 am. The connection incident reportedly <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://outage.report/telegram" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">affected</a> users from countries such as Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Kazakhstan, Russia, the Netherlands and Germany.

According to Downdetector, the latest outages on Telegram followed a smaller outage detected on Oct. 2.
Posts on Reddit confirmed the outages on Telegram, with some users pointing to issues with server connection as well.
“Here in Germany the app doesn’t work properly. There seems to be no server contact cause my chats are all there but it won’t load newer messages,” one Redditor <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Telegram/comments/1fv5dtx/is_the_app_down_for_anybody_else/" rel="null" target="null" text="null" title="null">wrote</a>.
“It’s been down for about an hour now,” another Reddit user <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Telegram/comments/1fv5dtx/comment/lq4dylw/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" text="null" title="https://www.reddit.com/r/Telegram/comments/1fv5dtx/comment/lq4dylw/?utm_source=share&amp;utm_medium=web3x&amp;utm_name=web3xcss&amp;utm_term=1&amp;utm_content=share_button">stated</a>.

Telegram has suffered significant outages on its platform before. According to Outage.Report data, Telegram previously experienced a mass outage that lasted for one hour and 28 minutes in June. The app also experienced an outage of almost two hours in April.
<h2 id="strong-telegram-ceo-pavel-durov-remains-under-investigation-in-france-strong">Telegram CEO Pavel Durov remains under investigation in France</h2>
The outage came amid Telegram CEO Pavel Durov <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/telegram-ip-address-disclosure-since-2018-durov" rel="" target="_self" text="null" title="https://cointelegraph.com/news/telegram-ip-address-disclosure-since-2018-durov">hinting that the messenger has been disclosing IP addresses</a> of criminals to authorities since 2018 on Oct. 2.
The CEO is currently under investigation in France, with French prosecutors <a data-ct-non-breakable="null" href="https://cointelegraph.com/news/telegram-ceo-pavel-durov-france-court" rel="" target="_self" text="null" title="https://cointelegraph.com/news/telegram-ceo-pavel-durov-france-court">indicting Durov on six charges related to illicit activity</a> on the messaging platform on Aug. 28.
Neither Telegram nor Durov has addressed the outages publicly at the time of writing.
Cointelegraph approached Telegram for a comment regarding the outages but did not receive a response by publication.
