John Garvin, the creative director of Days Gone, is disappointed over Deacon’s portrayal in Astro Bot. He expressed it in an X post retweeting the official promotional post for Astro Bot,&nbsp; which featured Deacon, a most liked character from the game.
On September 6th, Bend Studio, a game developer company for PlayStation, shared a Twitter post on their official account. The post consisted of creative art that featured a Bend Studio’s game character, Deacon, looking over Astro Bot on a beach. The post was not well received by John Garvin, the creative director of Days Gone. According to to him, the character Deacon, aka Deek repute, is compromised to promote other games.

The post was originally to congratulate Team Asobi on the successful launch of Astro Bot. Astro Bot received critical acclaim the day after its release. The game has also secured the <a href="https://www.cryptopolitan.com/astro-bot-best-selling-game/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">best-selling position in multiple countries</a>. The game also pays tribute to many of the popular games featuring their popular characters of Play Station games.&nbsp;

Most of the fans of both games did not agree with Garvin’s view. One comment by a user, Gabriel, says that he doesn’t “need to be harsh with the entire studio” if Sony is not producing Days Gone 2. Garvin further mentions that his game hero is “reduced to a cartoon schill promoting some small game” in reply to Gabriel’s comment.&nbsp;
There were more replies to John Garvin’s criticism about many other characters included in Astro Bot, which doesn’t mean they are reduced. However, Garvin stated in one comment that he “was talking about the promotional ad, not the game.”
Garvin has previously shown that he has been upset over the halt on the Days Gone sequel. He blamed it on the “woke reviewers.” He also listed his reasons in a tweet, which has now been deleted. To this, the Bend Studio took to X and cleared out that they did not share the views with Garvin. They said his comments were&nbsp; <a href="https://x.com/BendStudio/status/1600944632409755648" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">“personal views on the critical reception”</a> of the game.
