Welcome to our next edition of the Xelis development update, where we highlight the latest strides and innovations within our blockDAG ecosystem. As we continue to forge ahead in the realm of decentralized finance, privacy and blockchain technology, our commitment to scalability, security, and user accessibility remains unwavering. This week, we bring you insights into our advancements across the following key areas: Development, Marketing and Community<h3 id="1-smart-contract-vm-development">1. Smart Contract/VM development:</h3>Our team continues to enhance the Xelis Virtual Machine (Xelis VM) by refining syntax and integrating new functions and features. We’re dedicated to making our smart contract platform more robust and versatile, ensuring that it meets the evolving needs of our users and developers.<h3 id="2-multisig-wallet-feature">2. Multisig Wallet Feature</h3>We’re excited to introduce we are working on a new multisig wallet feature that allows funds to be controlled collectively. A multisignature (or multisig) wallet is a type of cryptocurrency wallet that requires multiple signatures, or approvals, to authorize a transaction. This security feature is designed to enhance the safety of funds by requiring consensus from several parties before any action can be taken. This added layer of security is designed to provide greater control and reduce the risk of unauthorized transactions.<h3 id="3-xelis-discovery-quest">3. Xelis Discovery Quest</h3>We’re launching the Xelis Discovery Quest App, an engaging and educational platform aimed at helping users learn how to utilize Xelis. Participants will have the opportunity to earn Xelis coins as they navigate through interactive lessons and challenges. This initiative is designed to increase user engagement and understanding of our platform while rewarding users for their participation.<h3 id="4-xelis-integration-in-payment-applications">4. Xelis Integration in Payment Applications</h3>Xelis is making strides in becoming more accessible by integrating with payment applications. Soon, you’ll be able to use Xelis across a variety of commerce sites, including Shopify and other e-commerce platforms. This integration aims to make transactions smoother and more widespread, expanding the use of Xelis in everyday purchases.<h3 id="5-xelis-merchandise-coming-soon">5. Xelis Merchandise Coming Soon!</h3>Show your support for Xelis with our new range of branded merchandise! From stylish apparel to eye-catching accessories, our merchandise will allow you to sport our colors and logo with pride. Not only will you look great, but you’ll also help spread the word about Xelis wherever you go.<h3 id="6-new-node-update-1-14-0">6. New Node Update 1.14.0</h3>We’ve released Node Update 1.14.0, featuring several improvements and bug fixes. A major highlight is the overhaul of the peerlist function. The old peerlist-*.json format has been replaced with a disk-backed database, which enhances I/O operations and eliminates the need to load the entire file into RAM. This update will improve efficiency and performance for all users.<h3 id="7-exchange-listings">7. Exchange Listings</h3>The month of August brought forth two key exchange listings for Xelis with our listings at Coinex and MEXC Global. These exchanges mark two key accomplishments in our overall strategic awareness and adoption plan.
