The United Nations has expressed serious concerns over the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov, labeling it a case that “raises a lot of human rights concerns.” Durov was detained at Le Bourget airport near Paris on August 24th and is currently facing several charges related to Telegram.
Speaking at a <a href="https://www.voanews.com/a/un-case-of-telegram-founder-durov-raises-human-rights-concerns/7769386.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">briefing</a> on Tuesday, Ravina Shamdasani, spokeswoman for the U.N. Human Rights Office, acknowledged the complexity of Durov’s situation and its potential impact on human rights, stating:
