In a recent discovery, Russian authorities uncovered a massive underground crypto mining farm hidden in the Leningrad region. The illegal operation was found concealed beneath a ski tunnel in the training center "Kavgolovo."
The mining farm, believed to have been established five years ago, was equipped with outdated technology, which, despite its age, managed to generate an estimated $1 million in revenue. Investigators suspect that the mining farm was created during renovations at the center and had been siphoning power from the facility’s own gas-powered thermal station.
Authorities are currently investigating the involvement of the training center’s staff, as it would have been nearly impossible to smuggle the equipment into the facility without their knowledge.
