<p>Gambaryan, a former US Federal agent and <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/latest-crypto-news-kaspa-killer-blockdag-eyes-1-price-as-binance-faces-regulatory-hurdles/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Binance</a> executive, has become bedridden after spending six months in custody in Nigeria. The family claims that his condition has got worse so much that he can no longer walk and desperately needs medical care. The exective was confined on February 26, this year and now endures a ruptured disc and recurring attacks of malaria and pneumonia.</p>

<p>His illness has progressed and currently he requires blood thinners to prevent&nbsp; clots. However, despite his serious medical issues, Nigerian officials have refused to provide him with a wheelchair. His wife is deeply concerned about his physical and mental well-being while in detention.</p>

<p>The prison doctor has acknowledged his severe state, but his relatives claim he is still not getting the proper medical care he needs. They are urging immediate action to avoid permanent damage to his condition.</p>

<p>Gambaryan’s legal team has had a hard time preparing for his trial. They were not allowed to visit him from July 26 to August 14, which made it difficult to build his defense. Although they were briefly allowed a five-minute visit on August 15, they were denied further access. This restriction on his legal team violates his right to fair legal representation.</p>  
<p>In addition, the involvement of the US Embassy in <a href="https://cryptonewsland.com/nigerian-sec-to-introduce-crypto-licensing-and-taxation-legislation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Nigeria</a> has brought international attention to Gambaryan’s situation. Yet, his family says the embassy has not been able to access him, leaving him without much-needed diplomatic support. This situation raises a critical question: how can foreign nationals ensure their legal rights are protected in such conditions?</p>

<p>The prolonged confinement of Gambaryan has had a lasting effect on his loved ones. He has missed several important moments, including his son’s fifth celebration and his own 40th birthday. With his spouse birthday and their 15th wedding anniversary approaching, the emotional strain on the family is growing.</p>  
<p>He faces allegations of money laundering, currency speculation, and tax evasion linked to his work at Binance. The hearing is set to begin on September 2, 2024. However, his loved ones worry about the fairness of the proceeding given the restricted access to his legal counsel. Despite calls for his release, Gambaryan’s health continues to decline, and his family is desperate for urgent help.</p>
