<a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/08/24/%f0%9f%9a%a8-exclusive-next-binance-listing-could-be-huge-major-gains-expected-%f0%9f%9a%a8/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Binance</a>&nbsp;will soon support Eurite, a new stablecoin backed by the Euro. Established by Banking Circle S.A., EURI complies with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation (MiCA). The <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/08/24/japans-dmm-group-to-launch-regulated-stablecoin-to-rival-rlusd/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">stablecoin</a>&nbsp;will be listed on the Binance exchange from August 28, 2024. It is paired with EUR and USDT.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-binance-aligns-with-mica-in-euri-listing">Binance Aligns with MiCA in EURI Listing</h2>
Binance’s listing of EURI is in line with its MiCA compliance plan. This regulation, which comes into force in May 2023, sets out stringent EU crypto asset requirements. Binance plans to cease offering non-regulated stablecoins by June 2024.
The exchange unveiled a zero trading fee promotion for EURI pairs to promote token use.

This aligns with the Binance strategy of adjusting to the regulatory environment by offering compliant stablecoins.
Binance intends to expand compliance with the MiCA standards as part of its compliance strategy. All stablecoins that do not meet these standards will be gradually delisted from the platform in its European operations. This shift will help improve regulatory convergence and market stability.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-mica-spurs-regulatory-shift-in-eu-cryptocurrencies">MiCA Spurs Regulatory Shift in EU Cryptocurrencies</h2>
MiCA’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/binance-will-list-eurite-euri-and-introduce-euri-zero-trading-fee-promotions-e8c6134371e945df961ae1854e863a62?hl=en" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">launch</a>&nbsp;is a major development in the EU’s approach to cryptocurrencies. On the one hand, it helps standardize regulations; on the other hand, it presents difficulties to some companies. In June, Uphold announced that it would delist USDT and other non-compliant stablecoins for customers in the EU.
This shows that Circle is committed to regulating its operations as this is the first MiCA stablecoin license. However,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/08/21/tether-partners-with-phoenix-to-launch-dirham-backed-stablecoin/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Tether</a>’s CEO Paolo Ardonio had concerns, noting that “MiCA’s stringent rules present a challenge to stablecoin diversification and innovation.” This mirrors the general industry concern regarding the limitations that may be brought about by strict regulation.
A recent study by Kaiko shows that compliant tokens such as USDC have gained market share since the MiCA was enacted. In the future, as the regulatory environment continues to evolve, the industry may experience a shift towards the domination of fully compliant stablecoins, altering the current competition.

This move by Binance to support EURI highlights the platform’s influence in determining how the crypto market will respond to changing regulations. Through supporting MiCA-compliant products, Binance complies with the law and promotes market integrity and investor trust.
These measures show that the exchange is a market leader keen on compliance. As Binance discontinues the use of non-compliant stablecoins, it may prompt other exchanges to follow suit and contribute to the healthier and more regulated European crypto market.
