Shiba Inu marketing lead LUCIE has announced plans for the meme coin team to launch their own Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). 
In one of her recent <a href="https://x.com/LucieSHIB/status/1827246835338981443" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">tweets</a>, LUCIE, who has been quite vocal on X, shared key updates on Shiba Inu. LUCIE announced that SHIB is gearing up for the launch of its DAO. 
LUCIE stated that this move will empower every SHIB holder, despite the size of their SHIB holding. She also mentioned that these holders will have a say in the meme coin community’s direction.

<h3 id="shiba-inu-dao-will-have-two-key-councils">Shiba Inu DAO will have two key councils</h3> 
Even though the DAO hasn’t been fully implemented yet, LUCIE mentioned that the DAO’s introduction will represent a major milestone for Shiba Inu. She also added that this will give the SHIB community more control over the decisions that can affect the ecosystem. 
As mentioned in her announcement, SHIB DAO will have two key councils. One will be the charity council, and the other will be the culture and heritage council. 
LUCIE highlighted that these councils will help in implementing charity work, including charitable outreach, to preserve the culture of SHIB. “With a focus on transparency and inclusivity, these efforts ensure that Shib’s growth remains true to the values that have driven it from the start,” LUCIE said. 
The SHIB marketing lead also mentioned how Shiba Inu was created without a defined purpose and how it evolved under the leadership of Shytoshi Kusama. She also added that the meme coin is accepted by thousands of merchants globally and that it has proven its importance with its integration into everyday transactions. 
<h3 id="shiba-inu-price-didn-t-react-to-the-announcement">Shiba Inu price didn’t react to the announcement</h3> 
Despite the disclosure of plans to launch a DAO, the price of Shiba Inu hasn’t reacted positively. As per <a href="https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/shiba-inu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow">CoinMarketCap</a> data, SHIB is down by 2.3% in the last 24 hours and currently stands at $0.00001500. 
Shiba Inu hasn’t exhibited commendable price performance in the last four months. Even though SHIB rose as high as $0.000036 in March, the second largest meme coin is still down by over 83% since its all-time high. 
Amidst the surge in the value of Solana-based meme coins in 2024, the OG meme coins Dogecoin and Shiba Inu have been in the backseat in terms of price gains in 2024.
