Northern Data Group CEO Aroosh Thillainathan has made a bold financial commitment to his company by initiating a standing order to acquire additional shares valued at up to EUR 10 million over the next two months. This strategic move, set to increase his stake to over 8% of the company’s share capital, underscores his unwavering confidence in Northern Data’s growth trajectory and investment strategy, according to <a href="https://northerndata.de/en/investor-relations/news/northern-data-group-ceo-aroosh-thillainathan-initiates-another-standing-order-for-share-acquisition" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Northerndata.de</a>.
This significant purchase comes on the heels of a highly successful first half of the year, where Northern Data achieved a 49% year-over-year revenue increase, totaling EUR 55 million. With the Group on track to achieve an impressive 200% revenue growth by the end of FY 2024, Thillainathan’s decision to increase his shareholding is a clear vote of confidence in the company's future performance.
The purchase will be executed through a preset plan with a broker as an irrevocable standing order. The plan mandates that daily purchases on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange do not exceed 25% of the average daily trading volume over the preceding 20 trading days. This structured approach ensures that the full EUR 10 million order is executed within the designated two-month period, assuming trading volumes are sufficient.
Currently, Thillainathan’s direct and indirect holdings amount to 3,823,806 shares, or approximately 7.15% of Northern Data’s share capital. Following the completion of a recently announced capital increase, which will expand the company’s share capital by 20%, his stake is expected to rise to more than 8%.
The CEO’s share acquisition is not just a financial maneuver but a strong signal of his belief in the company’s long-term prospects. As Northern Data continues to scale its operations, with expectations to reach revenues between EUR 520 million and EUR 570 million by FY 2025, Thillainathan’s commitment reinforces the Group’s strategic direction and its potential for sustained success.
This transaction also highlights the Group’s ongoing investments across its core business platforms—Taiga Cloud, Ardent Data Centers, and Peak Mining. These investments are positioning Northern Data as a leader in High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, particularly in sectors driving innovation in AI, machine learning, and generative AI industries.
