Tap-to-earn (T2E) titan Catizen now has a new rival, inspired by Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s call for a tapper game for dog lovers: meet <a href="https://dogizen.io/?utm_id=DGZN13&amp;utm_source=cryptotimes&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_content=announcement&amp;utm_campaign=en_artc_external_presale&amp;utm_term=telegram_ceo" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">Dogizen</a>. 
The travel-themed game launches this August, pouncing as the tap-to-earn craze reaches new heights. Telegram now hosts countless ‘tappers’, with players reportedly playing five different games on average, and T2E games total over 400 million players around the globe. 
DOGS, Hamster Kombat, and Catizen have all made headlines recently in the crypto space with confirmed and rumored airdrops, allowing players to convert in-game winnings into cold, hard cash—it remains to be seen whether Dogizen will go down this route, but regardless, such a game with lofty ambitions is sure to turn heads.

Dogizen is a simple, Telegram-based game where players tap their screen in order to earn TREATZ tokens, an in-game currency that allows the player’s pet dog to travel around a virtual world and complete fun challenges and mini games. 
The dog theme perfectly answers Pavel Durov’s callout—in complimenting the success of Catizen, the Telegram founder confessed that he is not a cat person, and wanted a ‘Dogizen’ to be developed. Little did he know—the project was already in the works. 
The aptly named TREATZ tokens can be earned by tapping, but also through an idle earnings mechanism that rewards dedicated players. Those who progress through the game, traveling to new locations including London, Paris, and Tokyo, and completing location-specific tasks—ride a red bus, eat a croissant, and wander around Shibuya—gain XP, and unlock passive TREATZ income that keeps rolling in, even when not tapping. 
The player also gains XP points as they play, which unlock new locations, ensuring there’s always a new place to visit and new challenges to complete. The most dedicated players get rewarded for logging in every day, and even receive special in-game items from daily care packages. 
Dogizen is even more fun with friends, and ‘refurring’ your pals gives you extra TREATZ, too. Later, full-on social gaming will be added, allowing you to explore the world hand in hand—or, rather, paw in paw—with your buddies’ pups. 
The jewel in Dogizen’s crown will be the Dogizen Universe: a virtual arcade filled with mini games created by Dogizen players. That’s right, aspiring game developers will be able to deploy their creations within the Dogizen app, instantly reaching a potential audience of millions, who can earn TREATZ in all-new ways by playing along. 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="tap-to-earn-the-niche-to-watch">Tap-to-earn: The niche to watch</h2> 
Durov’s response to Catizen came in light of the explosive growth of tap-to-earn gaming. Essentially a product of 2024 alone, the sector has exploded to become one of the most talked about phenomena within both gaming and crypto. 
Hamster Kombat currently leads the pack and is doing so well that the project recently turned down presumably enormous financial support from VCs. With over 300 million players, it sets an extraordinary benchmark that Dogizen will hope to match. 
However, Notcoin, one of the first T2E titles, is so far the most successful in financial terms. Hitting a market cap high of $3 billion, Notcoin proves that user acquisition at this kind of scale can be hugely profitable, too, and other games are taking note. Hamster Kombat is currently preparing to launch crypto’s biggest-ever airdrop, and Catizen is planning a $500 million airdrop of its own as soon as this month. 
DOGS, another T2E title picking up steam as of late, recently launched its own token that will list on OKX this month. All of this shows that Dogizen is launching into a fertile and rapidly growing ecosystem that promises to bring in both users and crypto fanatics in droves.
