Global gaming solutions and service provider MSI announced its 3 PBO Enhanced Modes, which improve the performance of the new AMD Ryzen 9000 series processors. The company revealed other features with similar benefits, including the Set Thermal Point, Memory Try It, and High-Efficiency Mode.
MSI also released 2 motherboards to support the new Ryzen 9000 series. The new motherboards are the MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI and PRO X870-P WIFI.&nbsp;
AMD announced the new processor chips during the Computex 2024 event, revealing 4 new processors to join the Ryzen processors. The Ryzen 9000 series comes 2 years after the release of the first Ryzen processor chips, the 7000 series.&nbsp;
The processors, Ryzen 5 9600X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 9 9900X &amp; 9950X, are 6-core, 8-core, 12-core, and 16-core, respectively. AMD released the 9600X and 9700X processors on August 8 and the 9900X and 9950X on August 15.

During MSI’s announcement, it claimed the PBO Enhanced Modes can boost the Ryzen processors across CPU-Z, Cinebench R20, Cinebench 23, and Cinebench 2024. It also said the PBO Enhanced Mode aims to boost the capabilities of AMD Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO).&nbsp;
The company revealed that the Ryzen 9 9950X gets a performance boost between 4% and 10% compared to the stock AMD PBO. Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X, and Ryzen 5 9600X get 3% to 8%, 7% to 15%, and 3% to 8% boosts from the PBO Enhanced modes.
The Set Thermal Point allows users to lower CPU temperature without affecting the performance of the processor chips. The <a href="https://www.msi.com/news/detail/Experience-the-Future-with-MSI-s-New-Motherboard---Support-for-AMD-Ryzen--9000-Series-Processors-144221" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">MSI Set Thermal Point</a> has three limits, including 65°C, 75°C, and 85°C. The feature can help lower 3-4 °C for all the 9000 series processors.
The MSI reveal also said the High-Efficiency Mode helps certain games perform better by modifying the memory settings to lower latency and boost the processors’ performance.&nbsp;
<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-the-zen-5-architecture-faces-span-span-style-font-weight-400-performance-span-span-style-font-weight-400-criticisms-span">The Zen 5 architecture faces performance criticisms&nbsp;</h3>
AMD revealed during Computex 2024 that the new Ryzen series will use the new Zen 5 architecture. The Zen 5 is meant to be more efficient than its predecessor, the Zen 4. However, some gaming and gaming hardware enthusiasts are unimpressed by the latest release from AMD.&nbsp;
YouTuber Hardware Unboxed posted a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1INvx9ca9M" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">video</a> reviewing the latest Ryzen processors. The YouTuber noticed little difference between the previous and current generation of AMD processors.
Other YouTubers, including <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iyA9DRTJtyE" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">JayzTwoCents</a> and Gamers Nexus, also believe that the performance of the Zen 5 processors was not on par with what AMD had promised. JayzTwoCents mentioned that AMD fumbled the Zen 5 processor launch. The YouTuber highlighted the faith people had in the success of the AMD CPUs after the issues with the Gen 13 and 14 CPUs from Intel.
