<p>One month ago, the WazirX cryptocurrency exchange suffered a significant security breach, leading to the loss of over Rs 2000 crore from thousands of investors in India.</p>

<p>Investors still don’t know when or in what proportion they may expect to withdraw their money, even after the cryptocurrency exchange tried to restore user portfolios and <a href="https://www.cryptotimes.io/2024/08/16/hundreds-of-wazirx-investors-to-file-police-complaints-against-exchange/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">lodge a complaint</a> with Delhi Police’s Special Cell.</p> 
<p>Users’ discontent has only increased as a result of this ambiguity, and they are now threatening to take the exchange’s leadership to court or physically assault them.</p> 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-current-status-and-investor-concerns-strong"><strong>Current Status and Investor Concerns</strong></h2> 
<p>Despite restoring portfolios, WazirX has yet to provide a timeline for when users can withdraw their funds or clarify the ratio in which they will be returned.</p> 
<p>According to WazirX’s user agreement policy, the exchange can indefinitely suspend or freeze customer accounts and their funds, with users being required <a href="https://www.cryptotimes.io/2024/07/19/wazirx-users-can-not-take-any-legal-action-for-60-days/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">to wait 60 days</a> before seeking legal relief. This policy has only added to the growing frustration among investors.</p> 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-investor-action-x-space-discussion-strong"><strong>Investor Action: X Space Discussion</strong></h2> 
<p>In response to WazirX’s silence, a collective of affected investors under the handle @indiascrypto is organizing a critical discussion on X (formerly Twitter) this Sunday at 1 PM.</p>

<p>The investors have issued a final ultimatum to WazirX founders Nischal Shetty and Siddharth Menon, demanding their attendance at the discussion to answer pressing questions. The group is determined to seek transparency and accountability from the exchange’s leadership.</p> 
<p>Investors have threatened to initiate First Information Reports (FIRs) against the exchange owners in many Indian locales if the founders do not show up for the X Space meeting. The investors’ growing desperation and will to pursue justice and get their money back is evident in this court case.</p>
