US Vice President Kamala Harris is considering speaking at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville later this week in what could become a showdown on crypto policies between two presidential candidates.
Talks with Harris about speaking at the event are underway, said David Bailey, an organizer of the Bitcoin 2024 conference and CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, in a July 23 <a href="https://x.com/DavidFBailey/status/1815848521205178404" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">post</a> on X.&nbsp;
“Would be very savvy of her to reset the democrat positioning on the fastest growing voter block in the country,” he said. ”They’re making up their minds today.”

Should Harris agree to speak at the conference, it could be a key showdown in the race to become the next president. <a href="https://insidebitcoins.com/news/all-eyes-on-donald-trump-at-bitcoin-2024-as-elon-musk-arrives-in-tennessee-after-changing-x-profile-to-laser-eyes" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Trump</a>, who will deliver a 30 minute speech at Bitcoin 2024 on July 27, has developed a pro-crypto stance over the past few months in an effort to gain the crypto community’s support.
During his speech, the former President will talk about crypto regulation, which has become a growing concern for US companies operating in the sector. Many have <a href="https://insidebitcoins.com/news/donald-trump-might-announce-a-us-btc-reserve-at-bitcoin-2024-says-satoshi-action-fund-ceo" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">speculated</a> that Trump might also discuss potentially making BTC a reserve asset for the country if he retakes the White House.&nbsp;

Harris’s possible appearance at Bitcoin 2024 follows the withdrawal of&nbsp; US President Joe Biden from the presidential race. As crypto finds its way to the political arena, Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss believes Harris has no chance of winning over crypto voters.&nbsp;

The only way Harris can build favor with the crypto community is by immediately firing US Securities and Exchange Commision (SEC) Chair Gary Gensler, the Gemini co-founder said in a July 23 X post. 
Harris will also have to withdraw all SEC enforcement actions against “good actors” in the digital asset space, as well as end Operation Chokepoint 2.0, he said.
Winklevoss has openly <a href="https://x.com/tyler/status/1803872859938549920" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">declared</a> that he will be voting for Trump at the upcoming election, and revealed that he also donated 15.47 BTC, worth $1 million, to the former President’s campaign.&nbsp;
