<p class="is-style-lead">DeFi exchange, dydX, is negotiating the sale of a portion of its derivatives trading software for an undisclosed amount.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The sale would be for the exchange’s v3 software, a previous iteration of the dYdX platform. It has attracted traders due to its high liquidity and low slippage rates for large transactions.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Potential buyers of <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/dydx/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/tag/dydx/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">dYdX</a> include prominent market makers Wintermute Trading Ltd. and Selini Capital, according to multiple anonymous sources. Bloomberg was the first to <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-07-23/defi-exchange-dydx-said-to-be-in-talks-to-sell-derivatives-trading-platform?srnd=phx-deals" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">report</a> these negotiations.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Despite the platform’s evolution to v4 with its own blockchain, the v3 version remains valuable and has garnered much investor attention.&nbsp;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="dydx-hacked">dYdX hacked?&nbsp;</h2>
<p>However, on July 23, the dYdX official X page tweeted about multiple comprises on the v3 version.&nbsp;</p>
<p>“We just learned that dYdX v3 website (dYdX . exchange) has been compromised,” the <a href="https://x.com/dYdX/status/1815780835473129702" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">post</a> read.</p>

<p>The potentially compromised website for dYdX v3 is the older version of its trading platform that was just announced for sale.&nbsp;</p>
<p>The dYdX <a href="https://crypto.news/price/dydx/" data-type="link" data-id="https://crypto.news/price/dydx/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">token</a> has fallen by over 10% since the news broke.</p>
