Sun had traveled to the Philippines to expand his business and planned to stay for about two days. Sun and the other victim, Xia, arrived in the Philippines on June 20, and were last heard from on the evening of their arrival.</p>

The ransom call featured a male voice claiming that Sun had lost money and would be killed if the ransom was not paid. Both victims’ families reported the situation to Chinese and Filipino police. While Sun’s family did not pay the ransom, Xia’s family paid 3 million yuan.</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="details-of-the-kidnapping-and-murder">Details of the Kidnapping and Murder</h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">The victims’ bodies were found approximately 400 to 500 kilometers from Manila, with no communication devices found at the scene. The families learned about the discovery of the bodies from Filipino police on June 27.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">Xia worked at Suzhou Runmed Medical <a href="https://newslinker.co" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-wpel-link="exclude">Technology</a> as an international marketing director. The death report described Xia as a distinguished and courageous professional who had also worked with other medical equipment <a href="https://finance.coin-turk.com/" data-wpel-link="exclude">companies</a>. Xia’s death at 39 led to significant discussions about the nature of the well-planned kidnapping.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Yang stated that Sun was invited to the Philippines by a Filipino distributor named “Li Na” and had received an invitation letter for a business meeting from Medev Medical. However, it remains unclear how Sun and Xia met “Li Na.” Unfortunately, Sun’s trip to the Philippines ended with this tragic incident, now the focus of an international investigation.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines condemned the murders and expressed condolences, actively involving itself in the case. The embassy called for strengthened cooperation between China and the Philippines to combat cross-border crimes and ensure the safety of their citizens. The investigation is ongoing, with Chinese, Filipino, and FBI officials working together to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice.</p>
