Worldcoin (WLD) is a digital identity project aiming to create a globally accessible identity and financial network for everyone. The project preserves privacy by using the Orb device, which captures an iris image to verify users’ uniqueness, and the Proof of Personality protocol. Worldcoin operates in over 35 countries with significant updates like World ID 2.0 and integrates with various platforms for identity verification. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-what-is-worldcoin-wld-strong">What is Worldcoin (WLD)?</h2> 
Worldcoin is a groundbreaking digital identity project aiming to create an inclusive global identity and financial network. Launched in October 2021 by Alex Blania, Max Novendstern, and OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman, the initiative aims to be accessible to everyone regardless of their country, background, or economic status. Tools for Humanity (TFH), founded by the co-founders in 2019, led the initial research and development of Worldcoin. The project’s ambitious goal was to develop a universal currency, initially planned to be distributed to one billion people via AirDrop, potentially serving as Universal Basic Income (UBI). However, the challenge of distinguishing humans from online bots made the AirDrop process problematic. 
To solve this issue, the Worldcoin team introduced the Orb device, a biometric hardware tool that captures the user’s iris image to create a unique World ID. This image is converted into a numerical code, ensuring each user’s uniqueness without revealing their real identity. Additionally, the team developed the Proof of Personality (PoP) framework and protocol using an extended version of <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/ethereum-sees-significant-drop-in-transaction-fees/" data-wpel-link="internal">Ethereum</a>‘s zk solution Semaphore. This combination helps verify human uniqueness while preserving privacy. In October 2021, the project team deployed Orb prototypes in twelve countries across four continents, hiring the first 25 Orb Operators. 
TFH established the Worldcoin Foundation, a non-profit organization, on October 31, 2022, to oversee and manage the project towards community governance. The project’s intellectual properties, including smart contracts, SDKs, and patents for the Orb device, were transferred to the Worldcoin Foundation. As of January 2023, Worldcoin’s Orb-verified user registrations exceeded one million. 
Several significant events have marked Worldcoin’s development. On June 29, 2023, Okta’s Auth0 Marketplace integrated Worldcoin “login” processes using World ID. Talent Protocol became the first Web3 platform to support World ID for identity verification on July 6, 2023. Moreover, as of July 2023, World ID registrations surpassed two million users. On July 20, 2023, the World ID SDK was released, allowing developers to integrate World ID into applications. On the same day, Worldcoin moved its operations to Optimism, bridging Ethereum, Polygon, and Optimism. By July 24, 2023, Worldcoin had distributed the first fully built 1,500 Orb devices to various countries and officially launched verification operations in over 35 countries. 
The World App update introduced on September 18, 2023, reduced transaction costs on Optimism by introducing transaction batching. On October 22, 2023, the Worldcoin Foundation extended its first credit agreements with market makers, reducing the credit amount to 75 million WLD. On November 28, 2023, Worldcoin partnered with Ramp to enable the conversion of WLD to fiat currency through the World App. 
Additionally, the optional data retention feature in favor of personal data storage was removed, and a wallet bridge was introduced. Furthermore, on December 14, 2023, Worldcoin open-sourced IRIS, an end-to-end iris recognition system, and signed a new agreement with the first market makers to lend 10 million WLD over six months starting from December 2023. 
Among the latest developments is the introduction of World ID 2.0 on December 13, 2024. This major upgrade will bring new integrations with platforms like Reddit and Discord, a new Worldcoin App Store, and three levels of user verification.

Identity verification on Binance TR is one of the security procedures that must be completed before starting cryptocurrency trading and during account creation. This process is also necessary to protect both the user and the cryptocurrency exchange. You can choose to perform the verification process from your phone or through Binance TR’s official website. Note that you will need your mobile phone to verify your identity from the website.

If you cannot scan the QR code, click “Copy URL” to send the identity verification address to your phone via SMS.

When you enter the address on your phone or scan the QR code, a screen like the one below will open on your phone. From here, continue by tapping the “Identity” option first.

Then a screen like the one below will appear. To continue the verification process, first select the document type that suits you and continue.

After selecting the document type, continue by tapping the “Upload Front” option. After taking a photo of the front side of the document according to the document type you selected, tap the “Upload Back” option and take a photo of the back side of the document and upload it. Ensure that the images are clear and the information in the photo is easily readable when taking photos of the front and back sides of your ID card or driver’s license. 
Then continue by tapping the “Selfie” option. At this point, your phone’s front camera will open, and you will need to scan your face. Ensure that your face fills the camera area as much as possible after the camera opens. 
After completing all these steps accurately and completely, your identity verification process will be completed within a short time.
