<p>Ethereum ecosystem token prices have surged after the SEC said it would drop its investigation into Ethereum.</p>
<p>Notably, Pepe has jumped 10%, with its position as the ecosystem’s blue-chip meme coin drawing significant interest.</p>
<p>Ethereum developer Consensys <a href="https://x.com/Consensys/status/1803230653120659641" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">revealed</a> the SEC’s decision to call off its investigation into whether ETH is a security.</p>
<p>“The Enforcement Division of the SEC has notified us that it is closing its investigation into Ethereum 2.0.”&nbsp;</p>
<p>It continued, “This means that the SEC will not bring charges alleging that sales of ETH are securities transactions.”</p>
<p>Consensus regards this as a “major win for Ethereum developers, technology providers, and industry participants.”&nbsp;</p>
<p>The relief can be felt across the market.</p>
<p>After significant bearish momentum last week and this week’s open, altcoin prices have started to show signs of life.</p>
