Steven Steele, the project’s marketing director, recently <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2024/06/18/original-trump-token-struggles-with-exchange-listings-as-djt-rockets/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">said</a> in a Telegram conversation with CoinDesk that the TRUMP team applied for a Kraken listing in mid-May and never heard back.
“The exchanges that have refused to list TRUMP for ‘political reasons’ are exhibiting embarrassing levels of cowardice that is also incredibly tone deaf to the current meme coin landscape and their own customers,”
Steele also claims that ByBit and OKX rejected TRUMP on similar grounds, concerned about the political implications of listing the token.
Despite the flux, the PolitiFi movement has continued moving forward with another Trump-themed token launching, rumoured to be officially endorsed by Trump’s ongoing presidential campaign.
The token is called DJT and surged over 200% after launching on Monday, but due to scrutinization about whether Trump is behind it, it has <a href="https://birdeye.so/token/HRw8mqK8N3ASKFKJGMJpy4FodwR3GKvCFKPDQNqUNuEP?chain=solana" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">plunged</a> over 30% today.
Revered crypto trader GiganticRebirth was among those who questioned the connection between the token and the official campaign. So much so that he offered a $100 million bet against convicted pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli.
