Caitlin Clark Secures Victory in Angel Reese Showdown Caitlin Clark hit a huge 3-pointer, and the game was effectively over. Stop me if you’ve heard this story before. 
Indiana took its biggest lead of the game—84–77—on Clark’s 3-pointer with 3 minutes and six seconds remaining, and the Fever went on to defeat the Chicago Sky, 91–83. This is Indiana’s second straight victory. 
With 23 points, eight boards, nine assists, and two blocks, Clark topped the scoring chart. During Sunday’s triumph, Indiana’s fifth of the season, her chemistry with No. 1 pick Aliyah Boston—who had 19 points, fourteen rebounds, and five blocks—was palpable. 
With 23 assists on 35 field goals, Indiana did a good job of passing the ball throughout the game. In addition to Clark and Boston, five other Fever players scored nine points or more: Kelsey Mitchell (17 points), NaLyssa Smith (15 points), and Katie Lou Samuelson (9 points, 3 of 4 from beyond the arc). Indiana won the battle on the glass 38-32, despite the early dominance of the boards by the Sky. That was caused in part by Angel Reese’s foul trouble; he sat out a significant portion of the third quarter and was the leading offensive rebounder in the league for Chicago. The Fever flourished in Reese’s absence from the floor, while the Sky struggled. Despite shooting just 4-of-13 from the field, Reese managed to finish with 11 points and 13 rebounds. Turnovers might be the deciding factor: The Fever have given the ball away 10 times in the first half, resulting in 13 points for Chicago. (Indy, meanwhile, has only scored three points off of five turnovers committed by Sky). 
The top pick in the 2024 draft, Caitlin Clark, keeps piling up the stats: 18 points, 5 boards, 5 assists, and 1 block. Kelsey Mitchell(14) and Aliyah Boston(13) have also scored in double figures for the Fever, but she is the team leader for Indiana. 
On the Chicago side, Chennedy Carter has 14 points and Marina Mabrey has 18. 
Additionally, Indiana has made strides in the rebounding department, narrowing Chicago’s lead to just 30–28.
