<p>The moment every community member has been waiting for is finally here. Tectum proudly announces its roadmap update, featuring significant developments like a mobile app. We are set to launch our public blockchain, with our SDK already available to developers.</p><p>While we have issued the Developers Corner to keep users up to date, the team is taking engagement to another level. This includes regular AMA sessions detailing plans and behind-the-scenes’ development. In preparation for this campaign, here is an overview of the product releases that will be available in the coming months.</p><h2 id="header-0">Tectum Roadmap Update Phase One: Products to be Launch in the Live Mode</h2><p>Phase 1 of the Tectum Roadmap update will feature launching the private blockchain with a distributed ledger in Live Mode. Alongside the private blockchain, we will release the Basic Validator Node Consensus Public Protocol for the Solana staking model.</p><p>As you are well aware, staking is available on the Ethereum and Tectum networks. The team is working on incorporating the Solana network to give users more flexibility. Especially with several community members demanding that we adopt this blockchain.</p><p>Away from backend developments, we are also improving the frontend for a better user experience. The first step involves creating a Light Node App for Windows with an Automatically Generated TET address to cover fees. Meanwhile, this application will not have a private key accessible for the TET wallet.</p><p>Furthermore, Tectum will design a core user interface for Light Node that will feature Tectum account login and password. Even better, individuals who use this Light Node will not pay more than 0.1% or $1 for gas fees. The only condition is that $TET is the medium of payment.</p><h3 id="new-features-for-developers">New Features for Developers</h3><p>In addition to the average users, developers also have features to look forward to in this update.</p><p>First, developers can connect their own UX to the Light Node through a dedicated API. Likewise, they can generate and operate custom tokens with both pairs of keys. While these are custom tokens, individuals can perform the following functions:</p><ul><li>Mint, Decimals</li><li>Initial Supply</li><li>Hard Cap/Mintable</li><li>Burnable</li><li>Burn Amount</li><li>Block Address</li><li>Black List</li><li>Send</li><li>Pause</li><li>Transfer of Ownership</li></ul><p>That is not all, they can also build their custom explorers with help from the team. We will provide developers with the source code of the original Tectum Explorer.</p><p>Meanwhile, at least 1 Validator node and the Light Node must sign all transactions. More so, it must be the same Light Node where the transaction emanates. The Validator Node will write its confirmation in addition to the chain of blocks before this confirmation becomes visible in the existing Tectum Explorer.</p><h3 id="softnote-app-for-android-and-ios-devices">SoftNote App for Android and iOS Devices</h3><p>SoftNote, the most intuitive blockchain wallet, is set to be available on Android and iOS devices within the coming months. This is an important development step and has been long coming. The team had plans to launch earlier, but we stalled on it due to the recent update to the Mint House and other sections of the wallet.</p><p>Even at the <a href="https://tectum.io/blog/tectum-at-blockchain-life-an-overview-of-our-participation-at-this-event/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Blockchain Life Event</a> and <a href="https://tectum.io/blog/tectum-to-participate-at-the-dubai-fintech-summit-2024-as-a-premium-sponsor/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Dubai FinTech Summit</a>, attendees were asking if we had a mobile app version of our wallet. With updates to SoftNote UI completed, the team has resumed the development of the mobile app.</p><p>The <a href="https://wallet.softnote.com/softnote" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">SoftNote Wallet</a> mobile app alongside other products in the Tectum roadmap update phase 1 will be released no later than the 1st of September 2024. Even better, these products will be available in the Live Mode. This means that community members can start using them immediately.</p><h2 id="header-1">Tectum Roadmap Update Phase Two: TestNet and Products in the Test Mode</h2><p>While some products will be launched in the Live Mode, our developers will continue testing some products that we will release at a latter date. Unlike the services in phase one, these applications will only go live in the Testnet Mode. This process will comprise phase two of the Tectum roadmap update.</p><h3 id="public-blockchain-launch-in-testnet-mode">Public Blockchain Launch in Testnet Mode</h3><p>Following the launch of the private blockchain in Live Mode, Tectum will release the public decentralized blockchain in Testnet Mode. This approach will enable community members to engage in Net testing of our network.</p><p>We will only launch the Tectum public blockchain in Live Mode after the testing is complete. Therefore, it is hard to tell exactly when the live release will occur.</p><p>There will be a Hackathon whereby developers will examine and share insights on the Tectum public blockchain. The team is already designing a compensation plan for participants. Everyone who contributes to this testing will be paid in $TET.</p><p>The full source code of the TestNet version of the public blockchain will be made available on GitHub. This will give interested participants adequate information to work with.</p><p>Furthermore, the SDK and API will be available to testers when the public testing version goes live. The TectumCore.exe application will also be available to developers. This app will enable developers to work with the TestNet blockchain node.</p><p>As the public blockchain goes live in the test mode, developers will be able to generate and operate custom tokens with both pairs of keys. Participants can further mint and govern custom tokens on the public network. Besides custom tokens, they will be able to mint, fill, burn, and handover custom SoftNote Bills.</p><p>They will also be able to stake TET in order to improve the Node Weight Rating mechanism, as mentioned in the Ivy Tree Consensus below.</p><h3 id="ivy-tree-consensus-for-tet-staking-weight-ceiling">Ivy Tree Consensus for TET Staking Weight Ceiling</h3><p>Furthermore, we will add the Ivy Tree Consensus in TET staking to enable the Weight Rating Ceiling. This model is essential and enables Tectum to stand out from regular staking mechanisms.</p><p>With most staking mechanisms, the only determining factor is the number of tokens staked. This is an imbalanced system and only favors people who can afford to buy and own a significant amount of tokens. Instead, Tectum is taking a different and more balanced approach.</p><p>The Ivy Tree Consensus utilizes multiple factors when rewarding validators who stake $TET. This system will incorporate the number of tokens staked, computing power, utility points, and electricity.</p><p>Firstly, the amount of Tectum Tokens staked determines the maximum Weight Ceiling. In simpler terms, this ascertains the maximum rewards that individuals can get. For example, someone who stakes 100,000 will may get a ceiling of 100 while someone who stakes 20,000 gets a ceiling of 20.</p><p>While the first person has a ceiling of 100, they might lack the required computing power to match their ceiling. Perhaps, such an individual is using a regular computer for validating transactions, while their competition uses quantum computers. In such a case, the competitor will get the maximum reward of 20, while the person with a maximum of 100 may only get 30.</p><p>Tectum intends to launch the products outlined in phase two of the roadmap update by the 31st of December 2024. Meanwhile, individuals should understand that these features will become available in the Testnet mode. In simpler words, they will not yet be available for public use.</p>
