After facing several concerns and criticism over celebrity meme tokens, Iggy Azalea made a post on X that gained massive attention from investors and the crypto community. Iggy, an Australian rapper and model, launched the Mother Iggy (MOTHER) token. Following this launch, Vitalik Buterin shared his thoughts, stating that celebrities are creating coins for quick profits rather than sustainable development. Iggy Azalea’s MOTHER soared 26% after her statement&nbsp; 
Today, on June 10, 2024,Iggy made a post on X where she shared that MOTHER holders will soon be able to use the tokens to purchase phones and monthly cell plans from her telecommunications company. Despite bearish sentiment in the market, following this post by Iggy, the MOTHER token surged 26% in just 24 hours. 
In her post, Iggy wrote, “Tomorrow I’m finally relaunching the telecommunication company I co-founded, and you will be able to purchase phones or month-to-month cell plans using $MOTHER or Sol.” She added that an advertising campaign would roll out later in the week.

Besides Iggy’s recent post, earlier on June 7, 2024, the MOTHER merchandise store made a statement on X, saying, “Iggy is experimenting with the idea of an online shop where merch must be paid using MOTHER.” Initially controversy for MOTHER token 
The MOTHER token, launched in late May on the Solana network, initially sparked controversy. Many debated whether it was a genuine project or a cash grab by the celebrity, similar to WWE superstar Hulk Hogan’s <a href="https://news.todayq.com/wwes-hulk-hogan-meme-coin-crashes-amid-insider-trading-allegations/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">meme coin HULK</a> which crashed on June 7, 2024. However, Iggy’s commitment to the token has reassured early supporters, leading to its market valuation soaring from under $10 million to over $200 million.
Iggy Azalea’s continuous efforts to provide real benefits and long-term growth for MOTHER tokens seem to be paying off, reflecting a potential model for the broader adoption of celebrity-backed cryptocurrencies.
As of now, the MOTHER token is trading near $0.19, and in the last 24 hours, it experienced a price surge of 26%. Looking at the performance of the MOTHER token over a longer period, in the last 7 days, it surged more than 150%. In the last 30 days, the MOTHER token experienced a massive rally of 850%.
