<p>According to the leading crypto exchange, Bybit, the institutional holdings of meme coins have surged by more than 300% in 2024. As per the data from Bybit alone, Peak holdings were seen in April of nearly $300 million. Institutions are especially buying DOGE and SHIB due to their superior liquidity in comparison to the newer meme coins. However, BONK is attracting more attention among the new meme coin market entrants where institutions are purchasing tokens worth $75 million. Retail and institutional investors also hold PEPE and SHIB with retail users holding 20.95% and 14.61% respectively and institutions holding 22.23% and 10.39%.&nbsp;</p>
