Stand with Crypto, an advocacy group for cryptocurrency started by the US’s <a href="https://news.todayq.com/binance-denies-the-allegation-of-1-mln-security-breach/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">biggest crypto exchange</a> in August 2024 has seen its membership swell to over 1 million. More and more people joining the campaign reflects the growing political influence of digital asset supporters. Coinbase to shake US elections 
Eleanor Terrett, a Fox Business Journalist reported that Brian Armstrong, Coinbase CEO, has stated that “The crypto constituency will be a major force in the US elections. And if politicians, especially in battleground states, want to get elected, they’ll need to listen.” This is the message coming from the US’s biggest crypto executive ahead of the crucial presidential election.
Stand with Crypto advocates for fair regulation of digital assets in the country, however, it encourages American crypto voters to make their voices heard in the 2024 election.
Brian Armstrong in a report highlighted that the rapid growth of Stand with Crypto indicates a substantial voting power within the crypto community. He added, “It’s a much bigger voting bloc than most people probably would have anticipated.”
Reports depict that the crypto sector is investing heavily in the US elections this year. They are coming in with aiming to support crypto friendly candidates. Coinbase recently announced a $25 million donation to the pro-crypto political action committee Fairshake. Similar types of contributions from Ripple and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz have been announced earlier. What’s more? 
The report mentioned that Stand with Crypto is much more active in swing states as it boasts nearly 24,000 members in Georgia and over 16,000 in Arizona. These states were narrowly won by President Joe Biden in the 2020 election which directly highlights the potential impact of crypto voters.
The global digital assets market is moving toward the much anticipated $3 trillion mark with a 24 hour trading volume of $80 billion. Bitcoin is back on its bull momentum as it has regained the vital $71,000 price level. BTC price has surged by over 68% on the year to date (YTD) basis. The biggest digital asset is holding a market cap of $1.4 trillion alone.
Coinbase estimates that 52 million Americans have used cryptos. Many of these users are frustrated by the unclear regulatory environment and are looking to elect representatives who align with their values. This represents roughly one in five Democrats, Republicans, or independents.
