A well-known community member, Lai Japanese Fang Chang, disclosed a significant security compromise affecting his OKX account that resulted in the theft of more than $2 million in assets. 
On June 3, anonymous scammers used Telegram to get his personal information by taking advantage of a serious data breach. Chang’s research exposes the concerning strategies employed by the con artists, who used the “forgotten password” feature to access his email. 
They effectively assumed the identity of Chang to change security settings, including the email address, phone number, and even Google Authenticator, even two-factor authentication (2FA), by using artificial intelligence-generated video technology. 
These activities resulted in stealing about $2 million worth of assets from Chang’s OKX account in just one day. This account is still the only place to find comprehensive information regarding the heist as of right now. Despite user inquiries, OKX hasn’t provided a public statement regarding the event. Neither Slowmist, a prominent blockchain security firm, has come forward to assist. 
Renowned cryptocurrency analyst Wu has drawn attention to this new form of theft, advising exchanges to strengthen their security protocols and alerting customers to the widespread dangers of compromised personal data. 
OKX has confirmed that they have been actively resolving the issue when it first surfaced and has recognized the reports of account theft. They are not allowed to reveal any more information because they now support pertinent parties and have confirmed that the case is still pending in court. 
This incident underscores the critical importance of robust cybersecurity measures in the crypto industry and highlights the ongoing threat of sophisticated fraud tactics and misuse of artificial technology.&nbsp;
