Former US President Donald Trump has been under scrutiny for allegedly attempting to hide some of his personal transactions that were executed before December 2017.
Trump was found involved in a hush money case in March 2023 following a year-long investigation. It is the first ever case reported against a former or sitting president who has been found involved in any criminal charges.
The trial against Trump was initiated in mid-April, with prosecutors calling witnesses who were involved in the payments.
The Trump attorneys, however, claimed the former president was not involved in hush money and repayment schemes, stating that there was no evidence that Trump knew about the hush money payments or any issues with the reimbursement checks.&nbsp;
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-recent-updates-in-the-case-strong">Recent Updates in the Case</h2>
On Thursday, a jury consisting of 12 Manhattan residents, out of whom seven were men and five were women. The jury members came from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including teachers, lawyers, engineers, therapists, and investment bankers.&nbsp;
The selection of the jury was based on the questionnaire they filled out, and they were committed to being impartial.
The jury found Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree and looking at the charges, his tentative imprisonment is an announcement. However, the final announcement will be made, and he will be sentenced on July 11. He was also accused of influencing the 2016 presidential elections.
The applicable sentence for each count is 4 years, which will result in a total imprisonment of 136 years and a monetary penalty of well.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-trump-s-response-to-the-case-strong">Trump’s Response to the Case</h3>
Trump was supposed to conduct a press release at the Trump Tower in Manhattan. His lawyers and followers argue that all the claims against him are illegitimate and politically driven.&nbsp;
They have also claimed that the four charges against him were forged and were filed by Democratic President <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2024/05/30/joe-biden-campaign-ramps-up-crypto-market-politifi-coins-reaction/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Joe Biden </a>to keep Trump out of the White House. Trump has announced that he will begin his election campaign on Friday itself.

Earlier, uncofirmed reports suggested that Tesla founder Elon Musk and former president Donald Trump have discussed policies for implementation in the crypto, AI and Web3 segments.&nbsp;
Elon Musk commented that he surely remembered that he had not had any such discussions with Trump; however, he is interested in any such projects that can transfer power from the government to the users, and crypto has the potential to do it.
Musk said, “Pretty sure I’ve never discussed crypto with Trump, although I am generally in favor of things that shift power from the government to the people, which cryptos can do.”
