Over 1,000 technology builders, operators, investors and talents converged on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Queens Park Event Center for The Builders Summit, hosted by <a href="https://www.foundersconnect.xyz/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Founders Connect</a>. The day-long event provided a forum for Nigeria’s tech ecosystem to network, share insights and explore avenues for growth and innovation. 
“The Builders Summit recognises that the journey of creation and growth is paved not only by founders but also by dedicated operators, creative problem-solvers, investors, and talents who breathe life into ideas. That’s how I know that every single one of you is a builder, which is why I called it ‘The Builders Summit,'” said Peace Itimi, the Chief Storyteller of Founders Connect, in her opening address.

Keynote speaker Adia Sowho, CMO of MTN Nigeria, inspired attendees with her professional journey, emphasising adaptability and self-awareness as keys to being a great builder, while Tosin Olaseinde, founder/CEO of Money Africa and Ife Durosinmi Etti, CEO of Herconomy in a panel discussion, shared their experiences in building businesses from communities and offered tips on securing grants and fellowships.

A major highlight of the event was a live interview conducted by Peace Itimi with Sim Shagaya, the Founder &amp; Group CEO of uLesson and Chancellor at Miva Open University, who shared his journey as a serial entrepreneur and highlighted the lessons he learned from his experiences.

Other highlights included a keynote by Joe Kinvi, founder of PLTFM who spoke on leveraging the power of community to unlock growth, and other notable speakers included Lexi Novitske, Bunmi Akinyemiju, Adebowale Banjo, Babajide Duroshola, and Oji Udezue. 
The Summit also featured an engaging AMA session (ask me anything) with Iyin Aboyeji, Founding Partner Future Africa who shared valuable insights on leadership and building a startup. 
This was followed by another AMA session featuring Feyikemi Abudu, the co-host of ISWIS Podcst and Steven Ndukwu, a travel content creator who both shared their experiences and tips on building a successful career as a creator. 
The event’s ‘Startup Innovation Challenge’ saw four semi-finalists pitch for the grand prize of $1,000, a gold ticket to the Wema Bank Hackaholics to pitch for 30 Million Naira and over $300,000 in perks backed by AWS, Google for Startups, Intercom, Paystack, Vontech, Reneé PR, Simpu, Founders Factory Africa, ALAT, Hackaholics, Distrobired and SMEDAN.

After deliberation by the judges, API Sentry, a comprehensive API security solutions company represented by co-founder and CEO Emmanuel Ezehiwele, won the challenge.

The Builders Summit 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together a diverse group of builders and operators to share knowledge, network, and learn from each other, with a focus on community, innovation, and growth resonating with attendees.
