Krasnoyarsk Krai <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/borneo-police-crack-down-on-illegal-crypto-mining-operation/">police</a> have dismantled two illegal cryptocurrency mining farms. The <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/large-scale-cryptocurrency-mining-farm-uncovered-in-dagestans-kizilyurtovsky-district/">investigation</a> began when an employee of an energy supply company was caught accepting a bribe. This employee helped organize the mining operations in the village of Boguchany and the settlement of Gremuchy for a reward of 760,000 rubles. He allowed the <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/immersion-cooling-transforms-chinas-crypto-mining-landscape/">mining equipment</a> to connect to the grid without proper documentation, masking the overconsumption as losses, according to <a href="https://bits.media/politsiya-krasnoyarskogo-kraya-unichtozhila-dve-podpolnye-mayningovye-fermy/">Bits.media</a>. 
During the raids, police seized four computers, video surveillance equipment, routers, modems, mobile phones, and 197 pieces of mining equipment. The Investigative Committee has opened criminal cases, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are also deciding on a preventive measure for the energy company employee involved. 
In a related effort, power engineers of the Dagestan branch of Rosseti North Caucasus stopped 18 cases of <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/minnesota-man-faces-accusations-of-electricity-theft-for-bitcoin-mining/">electricity</a> theft by cryptocurrency mining farms from January to March 2024. This highlights the ongoing battle against <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/abkhazia-intensifies-crackdown-on-illegal-crypto-mining/">illegal mining</a> operations and electricity theft in <a href="https://ultramining.com/news/en/russia-s-energy-ministry-charges-forward-to-legalize-crypto-mining/">Russia</a>.
