Prominent Islamic scholars addressed the legality of cryptocurrency and mining in Islam. Mansur Ibrahim Yelwa, a well-known professor, discussed the topic after numerous inquiries. Sheikh Ibrahim Ahmad Maqary and other scholars also contributed, offering valuable insights and advice to the youth, according to <a href="https://hausa.legit.ng/news/1594103-manyan-malamai-sun-fayyace-hukuncin-crypto-da-mining-a-addinin-musulunci/">Hausa</a>. 
Yelwa, after consulting experts, declared that mining is permissible as it involves using one's resources responsibly. He emphasized the distinction between traditional mining and modern methods, noting that new technologies can be acceptable if they adhere to Islamic principles. Yelwa also warned against practices resembling gambling, such as future trading, which he compared to betting and declared impermissible. 
Sheikh Maqary, the chief imam of Abuja's central mosque, provided further guidance. He stated that while mining is not inherently forbidden, it must be approached with caution. He highlighted that mining could be considered permissible or impermissible depending on its execution and implications. 
Both scholars stressed the importance of transparency and ethical practices in all financial activities, aligning with Islamic values. Maqary urged young people to engage in legitimate and constructive means of earning, ensuring their financial activities contribute positively to their faith and life.
