Former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at the Libertarian Party convention on Saturday, where he called for the<a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-05-26/trump-vows-to-aid-convicted-silk-road-founder-in-crypto-appeal" target="_blank" rel="noopener nofollow"> commutation of Ross Ulbricht’s sentence</a>, the founder of the Silk Road online marketplace. The move is seen as an attempt by Trump to broaden his support ahead of the 2024 presidential election and neutralize the threat from third-party candidates.
