Bybit Web3, the Web3 division of Bybit, has unveiled an exciting event titled “Memecoin Mavericks: Where will the Winds of Memecoin Fate Blow?” set to air on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 8:00 AM UTC. This event will feature a lovely debate among industry experts exploring the future of memecoins within the evolving Web3 landscape. 
The debate will showcase prominent figures in the cryptocurrency space, who will tackle various topics ranging from the cultural significance of memes in Web3 to the potential of memecoins on different blockchain platforms. 
Emily Bao, Bybit’s Web3 Evangelist, said, “This event captures the dynamic spirit of Web3 and provides a unique platform for our community to gain valuable insights, participate in lively discussions, and even win big. Join us on May 24th to explore whether meme coins are just a fleeting trend or the next big thing in crypto.” 
In addition to the expert discussions, the event will host a popularity voting contest featuring nine trending memecoins. Attendees participating in the voting will have the chance to win the most popular memecoin based on collective votes. 
The surge in memecoin trading volume, reaching its highest level since May 2021, reflects a growing interest in memecoin. Tokens like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and Pepe have led this surge, with the total market cap for memecoins soaring to $51 billion. 
This surge coincides with Base’s thriving network usage, with its 24-hour trading volume exceeding $250 million, up tenfold since January.&nbsp; 
Memecoins have seen a staggering 195% annual increase, surpassing Bitcoin’s 123% rise. The total market cap for memecoins now stands at a staggering $51 billion, underscoring both the potential and risk in this sector. Is this trend sustainable or just a fleeting frenzy?&nbsp; 
Bybit’s DEX Pro platform will also be showcased during the event, offering attendees insights into decentralized exchange technologies. Furthermore, participants can test their memecoin knowledge and win up to $5,000 in trending memecoins on Base by engaging in an <a href="https://www.bybit.com/en/press/live/web3-memecoins" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">interactive quiz</a>. 
The live stream event promises to be an engaging exploration of the memecoin phenomenon, offering valuable insights and opportunities for participants to join the conversation.
