Grayscale Bitcoin Trust

Morgan Stanley, a financial service provider, revealed its Bitcoin investment worth $269.9 Million in spot Bitcoin ETF and became the top Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) holder. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Since the day spot Bitcoin ETFs were approved, investors and traders continuously invested in Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs. Morgan Stanley, one of the investors, disclosed its $269.9 Million investment in spot Bitcoin ETF through Grayscale’s GBTC in its Q1 13F disclosure.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

On May 16, Wu Blockchain took to X to inform its 371.1K followers about Morgan Stanley’s investment worth $269.9 Million in spot Bitcoin ETF.

The investment made Morgan Stanley one of the top GBTC holders, behind Susquehanna International Group, which invested $1 Billion. Apart from this, others first also disclosed their investment in spot Bitcoin ETFs.&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Aristeia Capital, Boothbay Fund Management, and Pine Ridge disclosed their iShares Bitcoin trust (IBIT) investments. Furthermore, Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise, estimated investment of around $5 Billion by 700 companies by the end of May 15.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strong-gbtc-s-stand-in-the-crypto-market-strong">GBTC’s Stand in the Crypto Market&nbsp;</h2> 
GBTC is currently trading at $58.82, after a surge of 7.37% with $475.65 Million in volume and 324.27 Million in shares outstanding. According to Coinglass data, GBTC recorded an outflow of $54.68 Million, indicating a high liquidity rate.&nbsp; 
GBTC documented an inflow of $64.11 Million on May 6 and $3.93 Million on May 7, the only Inflows recorded since the approval date.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Grayscale Investments BTC Holdings I Source: Coinglass 
Uncovering <a href="https://www.thecoinrepublic.com/2022/11/08/grayscale-investments-backed-survey-brought-political-take-on-crypto/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Grayscale Investments</a>’s BTC holdings, a gradual decline is recorded in BTC holdings. From 605.89K on 16 January, when BTC was trading at $42650.50, to 288.50K on 16 May, when BTC stood at $66,132.56.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Moreover, Grayscale GBTC’s premium/ discount to net asset value (NAV) per share was recorded at 0.03%, a drop from May 10 when premium/discount to NAV was documented at 0.07%. 
The net asset value per share when writing was $58.80.&nbsp;

Spot Bitcoin ETF is a regulated securities directly connected to Bitcoin’s price. It helps investors invest in BTCs without making any purchase or with no derivatives contracts based on the prices.&nbsp; 
It was approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in January 2024. At the press time, BTC was trading at $66,132.56, after a spike of 3.81% in a day with a market cap of $1,304,672,939,030 and $1,304,672,939,030 in volume.&nbsp;
