Doubling its previous investment in Singapore, Amazon will pour $9 billion into the country’s cloud infrastructure development. A worldwide leader in online retail and cloud computing, Amazon, has stated its intention to spend $9 billion over the next four years to develop its cloud infrastructure in Singapore. The decision is a reflection of the company’s goal to better serve the increasing demand for cloud services in Southeast Asia and solidify its position in the region. This region is rapidly becoming a key market for expanding the presence of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
