<p>UK government has agreed on £12 million for a set of disruptive projects devoted to the right decision-making when the significant development of artificial intelligence threatens the deepening of the gaps. This funding has been allocated through RAi UK, i.e., Responsible AI UK, a £31 million project scheduled over four years to <a href="https://www.southampton.ac.uk/people/5x2c6p/professor-gopal-ramchurn" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">examine</a> generative AI’s societal consequences and implications. A relevant example would be the three projects aiming at issues such as health, social security, law enforcement, and financial services industries, and the two other projects looking into AI accountability of smart operations and public participation in designing new technology.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> 
<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="strengthening-law-enforcement-and-financial-services">Strengthening Law Enforcement and Financial Services</h2> 
<p>Since it is difficult to make AML-CFT a thorough success without the effective implementation of common rules and close collaboration between law enforcement agencies and financial service providers, the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing will continue. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="additional-support-from-ukri">Additional Support from UKRI</h2> 
<p>The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Technology Missions Fund has invested an economy of £4 million, which is meant to reinforce these projects. Amongst them, £750,000 has been allocated to The Digital Good Network, The Alan Turing Institute, and The Ada Lovelace Institute aimed at facilitating public participation and giving power to public voices in the AI research and policymaking process. Professor Helen Kennedy, who leads this initiative and always underlines public engagement in developing fair and responsible AI policies, highlighted public opinion’s significant role here. Also, this fund of £650,000 will be allocated to a Project compiled by The Productivity Institute targeting AI implementation.&nbsp;</p> 
<p>Diane Coyle, a professor, advocated for interdisciplinary research by bridging the gap not only among researchers but also among policymakers, businesses, and AI technology developers to ensure that AI technology enhances productivity and the welfare of society. Such strategic funds are part of a £1 billion project portfolio implemented by UKRI to bolster AI research and development. This is one of the measures undertaken by the UK to improve its competitiveness position in AI ethical development.</p>
