Despite all transactions with cryptocurrencies and their derivatives being banned in China, the country has made a notable move for the “Belt and Road Initiative”. Chinese <a href="https://coin-turk.com/dunyanin-en-buyuk-odeme-sirketi-yeni-bir-blockchain-patenti-aldi" data-wpel-link="internal">Blockchain</a> journalist Wu <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/coin98-launches-25-million-ecosystem-fund-to-accelerate-web3-startups-in-asia/" data-wpel-link="internal">Blockchain</a> reported that the Chinese government announced a new project titled “Ultra Large-Scale Blockchain Infrastructure Platform for the Belt and Road Initiative”. This project, to be developed under the leadership of Conflux Network, aims to establish a public Blockchain infrastructure platform. Since the Chinese government strictly prohibits institutions from engaging in such activities in the field of Blockchain, the project is in a completely different position from current cryptocurrency projects. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-a-robust-public-blockchain-infrastructure-platform-to-be-developed-strong">A Robust Public Blockchain Infrastructure Platform to Be Developed</h2> 
The initiative’s focus is to develop an extremely powerful public Blockchain infrastructure platform and adapt it to the Belt and Road Initiative. Despite China’s strict regulations on cryptocurrencies, the government continues to be willing to explore the potential of Blockchain technology for various purposes, including facilitating international cooperation and infrastructure development. 
The project, to be developed under the leadership of the prominent Blockchain platform Conflux Network, is the latest example of a joint effort by both a government and a leading Blockchain company to leverage the features of Blockchain technology in real life. The project aims to increase transparency, efficiency, and security for the Belt and Road Initiative by utilizing Blockchain, as part of its goal to align the project with its objectives. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-a-potential-model-for-countries-and-regions-strong">A Potential Model for Countries and Regions</h2> 
As is known, the Belt and Road Initiative is a massive global infrastructure development project initiated by China, aiming to enhance economic cooperation and connectivity along the ancient Silk Road routes. It appears that the Chinese government aims to advance its goals of promoting international trade and cooperation by integrating Blockchain technology into this project.

Indeed, the exclusion of cryptocurrency activities from the Ultra Large-Scale Blockchain Infrastructure Platform for the Belt and Road Initiative indicates that China still does not view cryptocurrencies favorably. 
Experts consider that given the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Ultra Large-Scale Blockchain Infrastructure Platform project could make a significant impact not only within China but also globally as it progresses. According to experts, successful implementation of the project could serve as a model for other countries and regions that wish to use Blockchain technology for similar purposes.
