In the new announcement, Telegram reveals that it allows users to purchase in-platform ads with Toncoin. The update is part of the app’s latest user monetization rules that distribute 50% of the revenue from ads that are shown in public Telegram channels to their owners. 
According to the official announcement, this is one of the most generous reward systems in social media’s history.

The notes reveal that Telegram is generating more than 1 trillion monthly views in channels, and starting today, owners of public channels with a minimum of 1,000 subscribers can be rewarded with 50% of the revenue from ads that are displayed in their channels. 
Channel owners can now withdraw their rewards with no fees, and they also have the option to reinvest them into Telegram ads, collectible usernames, or Premium giveaways. 
<h2 id="introducing-ton-based-ads">Introducing TON-based ads</h2> 
<a href="https://telegram.org/blog/monetization-for-channels?ln=r" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Telegram</a> notes that they are introducing a new type of ad that users can buy with Toncoins – the crypto powered by the TON Blockchain. 
The motivation for choosing the TON Blockchain includes the low fees, high transaction speed, and <a href="https://blog.ton.org/100000-transactions-per-second-ton-sets-the-world-record-on-its-first-performance-test" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">the record for the number of TPS</a> (transactions per second.) 
From now on, anyone can promote their bot or channel and creators will be in full control of their context, being able to choose the exact channels where they’d like to appear. 
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov<a href="https://www.theblock.co/post/279566/telegram-introduces-ad-revenue-sharing-with-5050-split-using-only-toncoin-in-nearly-100-countries" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"> addressed the update</a> via his personal channel last month, saying that the move will create a virtuous circle in which content creators will be able to cash out their Toncoins or reinvest them in promoting and upgrading their channels.
