Scammers masquerading as bank reps convinced the victims that their bank accounts were at risk and instructed them to transfer funds to USDT for safeguarding. Ultimately, the victims were stripped of control over their assets.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The investigation unravelled that the stolen assets were shuffled through multiple digital wallets in a potential attempt to launder the money. Although the specifics of the recovery operation remain undisclosed, documentation from January 24th suggests that tracing efforts by the authorities led to the identification of five wallets involved in the scam. Tether has expressed pride in their cooperation with US authorities, cementing their stance on ensuring a secure and compliant crypto environment.</p>
