    <p>A former New York cop and alleged pedophile has described Sam Bankman-fried as the “least physically intimidating person,” in a letter pleading for the disgraced former <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="FTX" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/ftx.html">FTX</a> chief to be handed a light sentence.</p>
    <p>Writing to US district judge Lewis Kaplan, who is overseeing SBF’s sentencing, Carmine Simpson, who is currently incarcerated alongside Bankman-Fried, claimed, “I have had the honor to have gotten to know Sam over the past six months.”</p>
    <p>He added, “Sam is the most selfless person that I have ever had the privilege to meet,” and claims that “the world would be better with Bankman-Fried out of jail.” He then reasons that “incarceration would serve no benefit.”</p>
    <p>According to Simpson, one of the biggest “examples of Sam’s character” is that he has remained committed to his vegan diet of “<strong>undercooked rice, a scoop of disgusting-looking beans, and week-old brown lettuce</strong>.” The letter also details how he has become a <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="target" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/target.html">target</a> of “hazing, harassment, and <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="assault" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/assault.html">assault</a> more so than the average <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="inmate" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/inmate.html">inmate</a>.”</p>
    <p>Bankman-Fried’s estimated fortune has also apparently made him a target for extortion and he is reportedly worried about ‘jailhouse snitches’ spreading false rumors to the government and press.</p>
    <p>Simpson was arrested and charged in 2021 after he allegedly posed as a 17-year-old on social media to convince at least 46 minors and vulnerable children to send him sexually explicit photos and videos.</p>

    <p>Sam has apparently been making friends in <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="prison" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/prison.html">prison</a> and recently appeared in a group photo alongside rapper and former gang member G Lock, who claimed that “Sam is more gangster than (American rapper) Tekashi 69” and that he “<strong>didn’t snitch on nobody</strong>.”</p>

    <p>The photo taken on December 17 is said to be the first — and only — picture of Bankman-Fried since he was im<a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="prison" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/prison.html">prison</a>ed in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center.</p>
    <p>In an interview with journalist journalist Tiffany Fong, former Blood G Lock also described Bankman-Fried as “looking “<strong>scruffier than a m*********er</strong>.”</p>
    <p>He is due to be&nbsp;sentenced&nbsp;on March 28.&nbsp;</p>
