The co-founder of Sky Mavis, the company behind the blockchain-based <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/new-jambophone-launch-targets-emerging-markets-with-crypto-integration/" data-wpel-link="internal">Web3</a> game Axie Infinity (AXS), Jeffrey Zirlin, announced this morning that two of his personal wallet addresses were hacked from his personal X account. While Zirlin stated that the Ronin chain was not affected by this attack, the blockchain security company PeckShield shared the details of the hack. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-9-7-million-worth-of-eth-stolen-from-wallet-address-strong">$9.7 Million Worth of ETH Stolen from Wallet Address</h2> 
In his statement on X, Zirlin said, “The attack is limited to my personal wallet addresses and has no connection with the verification or operations of the Ronin chain.” He also added that “the leaked wallet keys have no connection with the operations of Sky Mavis,” emphasizing that the attack is not related to Sky Mavis.

Zirlin’s co-founder at Sky Mavis, Aleksander Leonard Larsen, also commented on X following the attack, underlining that there were no issues with the Ronin Bridge and that it was simply a case of a wallet address being hacked, as can happen on any chain. 
Blockchain security company PeckShield outlined the extent of the hack, stating, “Approximately 3,248 ETH worth about $9.7 million was stolen from a whale-level wallet address,” pointing to Zirlin’s wallet address. The security firm noted that the stolen ETH was withdrawn from the Ronin Bridge and moved to the crypto mixer Tornado Cash. 
Following the emergence of the hack, statements were made to prevent the creation of selling pressure, particularly on the AXS side. Indeed, data shows that the altcoin’s price was not affected by the attack, trading up 1.26% at $7.81 in the last 24 hours. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-victim-of-a-625-million-hack-attack-last-year-strong">Victim of a $625 Million Hack Attack Last Year</h2> 
As is known, Ronin, a sidechain hosting Sky Mavis’s blockchain-based Web3 game Axie Infinity, made headlines last March when it fell victim to a historic hack attack worth $625 million. 
The perpetrators of the attack were identified as the North Korea-supported hacker group Lazarus Group. Furthermore, it was revealed that Lazarus Group used an email-based phishing scheme in the attack.
