After the Jupiter (JUP) Airdrop, the well-known Phantom Wallet of Solana faced an attack defined as a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) on the X application. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="no-fund-loss-in-phantom-attack">No Fund Loss in Phantom Attack</h2> 
Protocol managers made a statement regarding the issue, sharing that several attempts were made to overload their systems. During this process, it was announced that some of Phantom’s services were temporarily suspended until the security vulnerability was closed. 
Additionally, as a reassuring statement to investors, it was indicated that the assets in Phantom wallets were safe, and therefore there was no reason for users to worry. 
No further information has been provided regarding the DDoS attack that took place. The timing of the attack was interpreted as significant. The attack occurred just a few months after Phantom wallet had integrated <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/bitcoin-surges-past-30000-amid-etf-hopes-but-risks-remain-says-bloombergs-mcglone/" data-wpel-link="internal">Bitcoin</a>, Ordinals, and BRC-20 tokens.

Typically, such DDoS attacks are considered maneuvers targeting security vulnerabilities in a system. They can also be carried out to disrupt the stable order by directing more traffic than the network can handle. 
In the blockchain ecosystem, one of the most significant methods of carrying out a DDoS attack is by endangering the availability of the protocol’s original users. Over time, this can have unwanted effects on the network. 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="solana-and-its-history-with-attacks">Solana and Its History with Attacks</h2> 
The Solana network has consistently been a target for attackers seeking vulnerabilities in the network. A few years ago, major attacks were carried out against the Solana ecosystem, and during that period, a blockchain security company called Slowmist had advised Solana users to be vigilant against potential attacks. 
During this period, one of the attacks resulted in the theft of 320 million dollars worth of Ethereum (ETH) from Wormhole, which served as Solana’s Decentralized Finance (DeFi) token bridge. 
In January 2022, there were suspicions of a DDoS attack on Solana, but it turned out to be merely a systemic issue. Later that year, an attack was carried out on Phantom, resulting in the compromise of over 7000 wallets and a loss of 6 million dollars. 
Recently, Manta Network became the target of a major DDoS attack with over 135 million RPC requests, facing a reliability test in its early stages.
