Supervisor So Min-seop played a pivotal role in identifying the illicit shipment, which had its product names cunningly disguised in the customs documentation. This vigilant action led to the discovery of a container filled with unregistered and undeclared cryptocurrency mining <a href="https://ultramining.com/hardware/">hardware</a>, according to <a href="https://cryptonews.com/news/south-korean-customs-officer-thwarts-crypto-mining-rig-smugglers.htm">Cryptonews</a>. 
Recognizing So Min-seop's exceptional efforts, the Customs Service awarded him the "person of merit" prize in a special customs clearance category during an awards ceremony. This event underscores the ongoing commitment of the South Korean Customs Service to combat illegal activities related to cryptocurrency. 
In addition to drug interception, the Customs Service has also been vigilant against undeclared "kimchi premium" transactions, which had previously generated profits around $4.38 million. Late last year, an operation targeting an illegal gambling ring utilizing USDT for money laundering led to the arrest of seven individuals.
