Soccer megastar Christiano Ronaldo played the sport with the holders of his non-fungible token (NFT) collection in a training event hosted by the world’s largest digital asset trading platform by volume, Binance.&nbsp;
The event was shared by the crypto exchange amid attempts to drag the five-time winner of the prestigious Ballon d’Or awards to court over the sale of his NFT collection.&nbsp;

Binance<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ctdq2cH_Lvw" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> shared</a> the video via YouTube, which showed fans and multiple holders of his NFTs interacting with the soccer legend. Fellow Binance endorser Khaby Lame and Croatian footballer Maria Marković were also engaged in the training session with Ronaldo.&nbsp;
One of the greatest soccer players in the history of the sport trained with NFT holders and gave them some tips to improve their game.
<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-ronaldo-and-binance-s-multi-year-partnership-span">Ronaldo and Binance’s Multi-Year Partnership</h3>
It is imperative to note that Binance and Ronaldo<a href="https://thecoinrise.com/cristiano-ronaldo-now-in-partnership-with-binance-to-promote-web3-initiatives/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> entered into a multi-year partnership</a> to promote engagement with Web3 initiatives. As a part of the deal, the two would create a series of NFT collections that would be sold exclusively on the Binance NFT marketplace.

As reported earlier by TheCoinRise, Ronaldo also underwent a lie detector test sponsored by Binance, wherein<a href="https://thecoinrise.com/soccer-star-ronaldo-unveils-nft-plans-details/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> he accepted that he owns NFTs</a> and will continue to buy them irrespective of the crypto winter prevailing at that time.&nbsp;
<h2 id="span-style-font-weight-400-promoting-investments-in-unregistered-securities-span">Promoting Investments in Unregistered Securities</h2>
Ronaldo has been promoting investments in blockchain-based assets since he entered into an alliance with Binance. However, some believe that the soccer megastar is promoting investments in unregistered securities and are trying to drag him to court.
A class-action lawsuit was<a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-67566602" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> filed</a> against the athlete on November 27, 2023, in the United States District Court in Florida, which claimed that the soccer star “promoted, assisted in, and/or actively participated in the offer and sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance.”
<h3 id="span-style-font-weight-400-solicitation-of-crypto-tokens-span">Solicitation of Crypto Tokens</h3>
The filing claims that whoever is purchasing the football megastar’s NFTs via Binance is also investing in other digital assets, including Binance’s very own BNB token.&nbsp;
“Ronaldo’s promotions solicited or assisted Binance in soliciting investments in unregistered securities by encouraging his millions of followers, fans, and supporters to invest with the Binance platform.”
Interestingly, renowned Argentinian footballer<a href="https://thecoinrise.com/football-star-lionel-messi-partners-with-crypto-exchange-bitget/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow"> Lionel Messi also entered into an agreement with BitGet</a>, a global cryptocurrency exchange, to support the adoption of Web3.
