Space and Time, a decentralized Web3 data service, has announced that its recently developed GPU acceleration framework, Blitzar, is open to the broader Web3 ecosystem.
The company’s co-founder and research head, Jay White, stated that by making Blitzar open source, they aim to provide faster, more robust ZK-proofs and benefit from community improvements in the repository. White explains that GPU accelerators offload computationally intensive tasks to GPUs, optimizing the performance of ZK-proof production, which is computationally challenging.
Blitzar is specifically designed for GPUs, which are capable of handling heavy computational workloads like ZK-proof production. GPUs also offer an efficient memory structure for processing large datasets, a critical component of ZK-proofs. Space and Time’s framework is now open to all projects seeking performance improvements in multi-scalar multiplication, a costly part of producing a ZK-proof.
Space and Time’s service provides a Structured Query Language (SQL) programming function for smart contract blockchain networks using ZK-proof technology. Their Proof of SQL ZK-proof tool allows users to trust that a data query is accurate and untampered within a decentralized data network by generating a SNARK cryptographic proof.
Proof of SQL enables decentralized applications (DApps) to run a query in Space and Time’s data warehouse and collect the result in a smart contract. The technology is set to provide tamper-resistant on-chain and off-chain data for blockchain services, with advanced computing, artificial intelligence, and large language models. White adds that Space and Time’s Proof of SQL benefits from NVIDIA GPUs and the development of both ZK-proof and Blitzar is supported by their partnership with the hardware manufacturer.
