Nairobi-based payments fintech firm, <a href="https://www.cellulant.io/" data-type="URL" data-id="https://www.cellulant.io/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">Cellulant</a>, has revealed that its Group CEO, Akshay Grover, is set to step down in January 2024. Having served as CEO for nearly three years, Grover leaves behind a legacy of achievements, playing a major role in elevating Cellulant’s presence in Africa and globally. The company said Grover is departing to attend to personal matters.
The current CFO, Peter O’Toole will be stepping in as Acting CEO during this transition. The Nairobi-based fintech company is actively strengthening its leadership team, with announcements expected in the coming months.

He took over from former CEO and Cellulant co-founder, Ken Njoroge, who stepped down from his role at the payments company in January of the same year.

Grover assumed his new role after working in management-level positions at end-to-end IT service provider, iSON technologies. He brought with him over 15 years of experience spanning early and growth-stage investment, portfolio management, strategy and capital raising in technology, finance and telecoms across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
