Eric Balchunas noted that this strategic shift has propelled ARK to become the second-largest holder of Bito, marking a significant position in the burgeoning cryptocurrency ETF space. The process of divesting from GBTC traces back to October when Bitcoin prices initially surged to $34,000.</p>
<p>At that juncture, ARK Invest initiated the sale of 100,739 GBTC shares valued at $2.5 million from its ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW). This trend continued later in December when the firm liquidated an additional 809,441 GBTC shares on December 19, translating to a substantial sum of $27.9 million. In parallel with the GBTC liquidation, ARK Invest executed the sale of 148,885 Coinbase shares from its ARK Next Generation Internet ETF (ARKW), amounting to $27.5 million.</p>
