Hong Kong-based ZA Bank announced that it has been providing support for over 80 web3 companies since early this year. This is in line with its vision for “Banking for Web3,” which it introduced in April. 
Among these companies is <a href="https://cryptonews.com/news/digital-asset-firm-hashkey-announces-wealth-management-service-launch-amid-high-investor-demand-bull-market-confirmed.htm">OKX Hong Kong</a>, and ZA Bank serves as the banking partner for locally licensed Virtual asset Trading Platforms (VATPs) such as HashKey and OSL. 
According to the blog released on December 22, titled “<a href="https://blog.za.group/en/article/2023_in_review">ZA Bank 2023 in Review</a>,” ZA Bank noted that it is dedicated to supporting Hong Kong’s ambition to become a global hub for web3. With the city embracing a new virtual asset trading platform licensing regime, ZA Bank announced that it is looking to introduce fiat currency-based Virtual Asset trading services for retail investors through the ZA Bank App. 
The digital-only bank, which has quickly become a major player in Hong Kong’s banking landscape, highlights its commitment to building “Your Future Bank for Now” through seamless, secure, and inclusive financial products and services offered via the ZA Bank App. 
As a licensed bank, ZA Bank emphasized that it prioritizes the security of its users’ money and personal information. This year saw the implementation of various initiatives to bolster data and financial protection. This includes migrating their core system to a hybrid-cloud infrastructure for enhanced scalability and resilience and introducing advanced features like ZAVerify for greater control over ZACard spending. Their dedication to customer privacy and data security was further recognized by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. 
ZA Bank has established itself as a major player in the banking industry, with 1 in 10 Hong Kong adults banking with the institution. The ZA Bank App has been ranked as the highest-rated banking app on Hong Kong’s Google Play in 2023. 
The bank has surpassed HKD 10 billion in customer deposits and ranked first in Asia in the Sia Partners 2023 International Mobile Banking Benchmark, retaining the 6th position globally. 
ZA Bank expresses appreciation for the trust and support received and pledges to continue providing the best banking experience. The bank looks forward to launching its U.S. stock trading service after obtaining the necessary approvals, promising more innovative and exciting services in the future.

 ZA Bank has been stepping up <a href="https://cryptonews.com/news/as-traditional-banks-step-back-new-players-fill-gap-crypto-banking.htm">efforts to enhance its services in the investment space</a>. The bank officially launched investment fund services in August 2022. It has since collaborated with top international fund managers, including AllianceBernstein, Allianz Global Investors, and JP Morgan Asset Management. 
The bank has successfully onboarded over 100 investment fund products, with an 8-fold growth in total assets under management since the start of this year. The bank also launched a fund subscription fee discount in August 2022, leveraging technology and cost-effective measures to enhance services. 
This discount, expected to last about 15 months until the end of November this year, has resulted in users saving over 100 million yuan on investment fund subscription fees. 
In addition to investment services, ZA Bank partnered with Wise in November of the previous year to introduce overseas remittance services, leading to significant savings for users in fees until the following month’s 13th. 
As of the end of November, ZA Bank has actively expanded its customer base, with 1 in 10 adults in Hong Kong now holding a ZA Card. The bank has also attracted significant deposits, surpassing 10 billion yuan by the end of June, reflecting a 17% increase from the previous year’s end.
