<a href="https://palmfdn.org" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Palm Foundation</a>, the nonprofit nurturing creative projects developed on Palm Network, is offering a $45,000 grant to artists selected by Patio curatorial committee. The award will be shared among artists chosen to have installations exhibited at Patio by ZsONAMACO during the Art Baja California art fair.
The outdoor exhibition of art installations, outdoor sculptures and ephemeral works will be shown on March 7-8, 2024 at San Jose Baja California. Hosted by LATAM’s leading art fair platform, ZsONAMACO, the event attracts tens of thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from around the world.
Thanks to Palm Foundation’s grant, selected artists will be free to create large scale physical pieces that will feature prominently at the event. The grant program will also raise the profile of Patio-curated artists by giving them an opportunity to bring their work to the digital domain. Each grant recipient will be required to mint 3 to 5 NFTs related to the physical piece to be exhibited during Patio by ZsONAMACO.
Artists will receive full technical support from Palm Foundation, helping them to create and mint NFTs that complement their physical art. Works will be issued on Palm Network, the blockchain ecosystem focused around the creative arts. Artists will retain the intellectual and commercial rights to their work and will have a choice of commercial platforms should they wish to sell their NFTs.
As part of Palm Foundation’s commitment to raising the profile of featured artists, each participant will be invited to select one of their minted NFTs to participate in a Palm DAO community vote. The artists with the highest number of votes will receive an additional $1,000 grant.
The grant made available to patio-curated artists is part of a series of initiatives developed by Palm Foundation. The organization is also sponsoring similar programs for artist residencies in Mexico City and Berlin. Artists selected for a Palm Foundation grant gain an opportunity for professional development through learning to work with NFTs and to expand their digital profile.
