Amidst the conflict between Israel and the groups labeled as terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah, security institutions have uncovered a new connection to terrorist groups using the rapidly growing <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/is-it-worth-buying-tron-trx/" data-wpel-link="internal">Tron</a> network. Another possible reason for this is that the Tron network is in a less conspicuous position compared to <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/multiple-bitcoin-indicators-point-to-an-impending-rise/" data-wpel-link="internal">Bitcoin</a>. 
<h2 id="tron-trx-emerges-as-the-preferred-network-over-bitcoin">Tron (TRX) Emerges as the Preferred Network Over Bitcoin</h2> 
Tron is gaining attention for its speed and cost efficiency. Surpassing Bitcoin in these aspects, Tron network has become the preferred platform for crypto transfers associated with groups tagged as terrorist organizations by various countries, including Israel and the United States. 
Interviews with seven different <a href="https://newslinker.co/category/finance/" data-wpel-link="exclude">financial</a> crime experts and blockchain investigation specialists reveal the reasons behind this preference shift. 
Research by Reuters since 2021 supports this movement, showing a significant increase in the number of Tron wallets involved in these transactions, while concurrently, the use of Bitcoin wallets decreases. 
Mriganka Pattnaik, CEO of New York-based blockchain analysis firm Merkle Science, also points out the shift from Bitcoin to Tron by terrorist groups.

<h2 id="why-is-tron-the-preferred-choice">Why is Tron the Preferred Choice?</h2> 
The CEO attributes Tron’s preference to its faster transaction times, lower fees, and improved stability. Merkle Science’s client portfolio includes security forces from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. 
According to an analysis by Reuters, Israel’s National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing (NBCTF) froze 143 Tron wallets between July 2021 and October 2023, due to their connections with a “designated terrorist organization” or suspicion of a “serious terrorism crime”. 
Out of the seizures of Tron wallets by Israel, 87 took place within this year. These operations included 39 linked to Hezbollah and 26 to Hamas. The operations also covered 56 Tron wallets connected to Hamas. 
Following Hamas’s attacks, Israel performed significant seizure operations, freezing approximately 600 accounts related to Dubai Co. 
After these operations, individuals using Tron claimed they had no connections with Hamas or Hezbollah. They stated they were conducting cryptocurrency transactions for their business.
