<p>While the current number of cases remains relatively small, experts believe that this is just the beginning, and proactive measures are necessary to prevent further escalation. The consequences of these actions are far-reaching, given that imagery of child sexual abuse is illegal in the UK, regardless of whether it is AI-generated or photographic. Even cartoon or less realistic depictions of child sexual abuse are prohibited in terms of creation, possession, and distribution.</p>
