<p>Beyond the magazine hype, lead SHIB developer Shytoshi Kusama recently emerged from “quiet mode” to outline plans for new Shibarium integrations. Shibarium is the Layer 2 network built to support SHIB and reduce gas fees.</p>
<p>Kusama has been in talks about integrating Shibarium with major centralized crypto exchanges. An AI chatbot is now available for SHIB users to interact directly with developers. Kusama said the team is focusing on building new projects on top of Shibarium.</p>
<p>The increased communication and project development point to renewed momentum for the previously stagnant SHIB project. The meme coin exploded in popularity in late 2020 and 2021. But 2022’s crypto bear market erased most gains, with SHIB still down massively from its all-time high.</p>
