<p style="text-align: justify">Cybersecurity expert vx-underground made a striking claim on <a href="https://newslinker.co/category/social-media/" data-wpel-link="exclude">social media</a> platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The cybersecurity expert alleged that an unidentified hacker group has stolen selfie images and sensitive personal data of customers used for identity verification from Coin Cloud, the <a href="https://en.coin-turk.com/speculations-around-cryptocurrency-in-july-will-bitcoin-keep-rising/" data-wpel-link="internal">Bitcoin</a> ATM operator that filed for bankruptcy this year.</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-personal-information-of-70-000-users-stolen-strong"><strong>Personal Information of 70,000 Users Stolen</strong></h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">According to the allegation, an unidentified hacker group may have stolen the selfies and sensitive personal information of 70,000 out of 300,000 customers of Coin Cloud, the Bitcoin ATM company that filed for bankruptcy in February and operates over 4,000 Bitcoin ATMs in the US and Brazil.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">As per the post shared by cybersecurity expert vx-underground on the X platform, the hacker group also obtained the source code of Coin Cloud’s backend system. The leaked data allegedly includes customer names, addresses, birth dates, occupations, phone numbers, and more. Vx-underground stated in an interview with The Block that the hacker group has shared the stolen data in private Telegram channels and that the leaked database may soon be published online.</p> 
<p style="text-align: justify">Coin Cloud’s former CEO, who filed for bankruptcy, previously stated in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that the company incurred a loss of $40 million in the first nine months of 2022 and had to file for bankruptcy in February due to various challenges and legal issues.</p> 
<h2 style="text-align: justify" id="strong-latest-figures-on-bitcoin-atms-strong"><strong>Latest Figures on Bitcoin ATMs</strong></h2> 
<p style="text-align: justify">According to data provided by CoinATMRadar, there are currently 32,886 Bitcoin ATMs worldwide. The three largest operators in terms of ATM operation are Bitcoin Depot with 6,219 ATMs, Coinflip with 3,931 ATMs, and Bitstop with 2,084 ATMs.</p>
